Privacy Policy
Last updated 25 September 2026
Alunima has no account, no server and no cloud. Your films, your drawings and your comments stay in a folder you chose, on a disk you control. Unplug the network and Alunima works exactly the same.
This page exists to tell you the exceptions — the few moments when Alunima does talk to something outside your computer, and exactly what it says. There are three. All of them are below, in full.
What stays on your computer, always
Everything you make: your video files, the drawings you put on them, your comments, your tracked motion paths, the names of your sequences and shots, your production stages, your settings, and the error log. Alunima reads and writes them in the folder you picked, and nowhere else.
None of it is ever uploaded, copied, analysed or sent anywhere. Not to us, not to anyone. If you put that folder on your studio's server or on an external drive, it goes where you put it — that is your doing, not ours.
The three times something leaves your machine
1 · Activating and checking your licence
When you enter a licence key, and afterwards at most once a day, Alunima asks our store provider, Lemon Squeezy, whether that key is valid. This is what lets one licence cover a fixed number of seats.
| What is sent | What it is |
|---|---|
| Your licence key | The key you bought and typed in. |
| Your computer's name | The name your operating system gives this machine — for example “MacBook-Air-de-Frederic”. It is what names this seat, so you can recognise it and release it later. |
| A seat identifier | An opaque code given back on activation, which Alunima returns on each check. |
Nothing about your work is sent — no file, no name of a film, no comment, no image. And if the network is unavailable, Alunima simply carries on: a silence is never treated as a refusal.
Lemon Squeezy acts as our merchant of record and handles this under its own privacy policy.
2 · Discord notifications — off unless you turn them on
A team can choose to be pinged on Discord when someone is mentioned in a comment. This is disabled by default and needs a webhook address that your team enters itself. If you never set it up, nothing is ever sent.
When it is on, and only when a comment mentions someone who has filled in their Discord identifier, Alunima posts to the channel your team chose: the Discord identifiers of the people mentioned, the name of the person who wrote the comment, and the name of the shot and version it concerns.
Never the text of the comment. That is a deliberate limit, not an oversight.
3 · Checking whether a newer version exists
Once a day at most, Alunima reads a small public file describing the latest published version. It sends no information about you: it is an ordinary web request, and like any web request the server hosting that file sees that a computer asked for it. Alunima downloads and installs nothing — if a newer version exists it tells you, opens the download page in your browser, and you decide.
In the Microsoft Store version this check does not happen at all. The Store provides updates itself, so Alunima stays silent.
What Alunima never does
- No account. There is nothing to sign up for, and no password to give us.
- No telemetry, no analytics, no usage statistics. We do not know whether you opened Alunima today, nor what you did in it.
- No advertising, and no third-party tracking of any kind.
- No copy of your work reaches us, in any form, at any time.
- No sale or sharing of data — we have none to sell.
Buying a licence
Purchases are handled by Lemon Squeezy, acting as merchant of record. Your payment details are entered on their pages and Alunima never sees them. They collect what a sale requires — name, email, billing country, payment method — under their own policy, and pass us your licence key and email address so that we can support you.
If you write to us
The contact form on this site, and any e-mail you send to contact@alunima.app, reach an ordinary mailbox: we keep your message and your address for as long as it takes to answer you and to remember what was said. They are not added to any list, and you will not be sent anything you did not ask for.
Your data, and how to remove it
Your work: it is in your folder. Delete the folder and it is gone — there is no other copy anywhere.
Your licence: you can release a seat from within Alunima — open About and choose Release this machine. To have your customer record deleted, write to us and we will ask Lemon Squeezy to remove it.
If you are in the European Union, you have the right to access, correct, export or erase the personal data we hold about you — in practice: your licence key, the names of the machines you activated, the email address attached to your purchase, and any message you sent us. Write to us and we will answer.
Children
Alunima is a professional tool for animation studios and animators. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect anything from them.
Changes to this page
If what leaves your machine ever changes, this page changes with it, and the date at the top is updated. A change that affects what is sent will also appear in the application's release notes — we would rather tell you twice than once.
Who we are
Alunima is published by Frédéric Multier, an independent developer
registered in France — SIREN 479 529 133. He is the data controller for the little described
above.
Questions about this page, or about your data:
contact@alunima.app. We answer.
The licence terms say what you may do with Alunima (en français).
